An amazing piece of long ago history right into the heart of a wedding.Pieces are .
A Stained Glass Wedding Theme. How do you do it? This takes some stellar planning an intricately built just as your relationship. It is a wonderful piece of art and color for any weddingwedding planner would be advisable in such a specialized theme. You can certainly do it on your own. You may spend hours researching for the wedding professionals that create the art and can elaborate on the venue. Some important key words you will need in order to find what you are looking for are:
  • Stained glass
  • stained glass windows
  • art deco, art deco wedding ideas, art deco wedding decorations
  • wedding blogs stained glass
  • Stained glass church windows
  • stained glass recovery, or restoration
  • stained glass art and art studio
  • museums stained glass art

Pick a few special designs that appeal to you and incorporate them into every part of the wedding you can.
Invitations can easily pick up certain designs from a stained glass. Artists can depict the design. Windowpane glass sheets and dimensional glues are part of creating the faux look on paper. Even if it is just small icon sizes or a full design on the outside of a wedding invitation.
Guest book as a large glass vase with stained glass. Have people fill out water colored paper notes and drop inside the vase that will later become home decorations. An art or journal style book with painted watercolor of church with stained glass windows or Image of the church or venue you are getting married in on the outside of the book or on a digital photo guest book. You can incorporate it into pictures throughout that book from engagement photos and individual window pictures. (link to my article on digital wedding books on 8/25 will post it here).
Make sure you add stained glass window by the guest book. It is an introduction to the theme for your guests as they join the ceremony.
Wedding Decorations. this is the important part. The search begins if you plan to include your own pieces in the wedding. You can commission an artist or start searching antique stores, estate sales. watch on the side of streets. I have an acquaintance that found a beautiful piece for free. It hangs on the back outside wall of her lake home. Wonderful accent and one heck of a find! How about little side table Tiffany lamps on reception tables. Ambiance, stained glass décor and gifts for your wedding party afterwards!
Ice sculputes are an awesome way to shine a rainbow of stained glass looking light through and adorn the main reception table.
Gifts and Wedding Favors. Always my favorites, the favors, Stained glass cookies or stained glass coaster.I added a video that has many glass wedding favor options that would compliment any part of this art deco theme. I love the idea of the stained glass cookies and biscotti as wedding favors and as finger food on the reception tables. I think an ornament even if faux designed like the invitations would be a cost effective way to DIY the favor.
Cake. painted or airbrushed on look of stained glass or pieces like mosaic built on top of the cake. White frosting tends to make the rest of the colors stand out the best. As you notice in the cake video, the design is just black and white, imagine filling in the white spaces with colored sugar glass that fully resembles stained glass. I think you have many options with the cake and I would explore experts that specialize in geometrical shapes and styles or floral if your design choice is more like the flowers in your bouquets,
Reception Food, Catering. You will need food specialists that have French backgrounds or very artistic in presentations. Not every item needs to have the look but maybe 2-5 of the desserts or side dishes can.
Flowers in complimentary colors. Some of the intense or deeper colors in the stained glass can also become apart of the bouquets. Whether it is Blue, Red, Yellow, Orange. A vibrant color choice will ensure the coordination is noticed. This is a great time for brioche bouquets too. Food coloring in the water and glass décor and vases that give the effect of stained glass and the colors in the venue.
Venue with pieces and table top décor for the reception. Church full of stained glass. This is the heart of the wedding. To get the best photography, The church or location should be near the stained glass building. Go on location to a stained glass art museum. Ensure your photographer and wedding can occupy the specific spaces for a period of time for the photographs. The reception can have an art deco feel and touches of stained glass throughout.
DIY the glass plates and your table numbers. You can design your own stained glass plates for the reception, enough of a budget? Add the glasses or wine glasses with the plates. Many are available at the dollar store, get the appropriate paints for the plates that give the faux look. You can use stencils or handcraft the designs. I added the Sketch Lite paper that you can use to create your own table numbers.
You can also purchase 8x10 sized stained glass art and add the number on the top of it. Wooden or metal house numbers work just fine. (Craft stores have tons of the wooden numbers in various styles and sizes.
Rings can incorporated the jeweled colors like saphires, rubies and emeralds. Especially when they have a 'framed" look or artistic look.
